Alice Antics

Last week Myra had a weight check (10lbs 7oz at 1 week) and we scheduled Alice to have some shots she needed at the same time. We told her before we left that we were going to the doctor and that she was going to get some shots. She started dancing around, repeating the word 'shot' over and over. That's when we realized she had no idea what a shot was. That week we just happened to pick up 'Corduroy goes to the Doctor' at the library. In the book Corduroy gets a shot and then because he's so brave he gets a balloon. After Alice got her shots (she didn't even cry!) she looked up at the nurse and said, "balloon?" The nurse didn't have any balloons and that's when Alice started crying. The nurse did find some stickers and some green plastic sunglasses, which made Alice happy again. She really liked her cool band aids too.

We've started talking to Alice about the swimming classes she will be going to in a couple of weeks. They're not to teach her to swim, just to get her used to the water and help parents learn how to teach certain skills. I explained that daddy was going to take her to a big swimming pool where she would get to wear her swimming suit. I even let her try on the new swimming suit we bought her since she'd outgrown her old one (this one has Elmo on the front) and she refused to take it off--Bruce had to pin her down to get it off her. Anyways, a few days ago Bruce went upstairs to check on her during one of her naps and found her asleep with a bathing suit halfway on. She has also prayed a couple of times for swimming class. I hope it meets her expectations!

I went shopping the other day for some winter clothing for Alice, and Bruce stayed home with the little girls. He got a little taste of what it's like to try to entertain Alice for hours at a time and ended up making her a little movie theater under the desk where she could watch Finding Nemo. She thought it was great!

Wow, Alice is getting TALL! Looks like she is going to have the Parkinson height and figure. Perhaps she will be a model? She is awfully cute. :) And the new little one is so adorable, I just want to squeeze her cheeks. 10 lbs....Faith, I am impressed, a LOT. My husband will be happy to know that even though the cute pictures made me have kid cravings, the side of the kidos scared me just enough to make me still want to wait a bit. I am not quite thankful he is short and small, we have the tall on my side of the family. No need to add to it. Hope you enjoy the Christmas letter, it was the most we could get done this year with Dissertation and Army training going on - but I think it worked well enough. :) Hope all is well with the cute little fambly, and I have to ask...did you get fambly from LOLcat speak? If you have no clue what I am talking about...the answer is no, but you should check out www.icanhascheezburger.com. :) I hope you guys have a great Holiday and do not freeze!

Love, Allison and Justin
