Last night we had a little birthday party for Myra. Alice and I made and froze a cake a few weeks ago for the big day and Myra was also kind enough to get Alice a present (a brand new trike!), even though it was her birthday:)

When it was time, Alice helped Myra blow out the candle on her cake--I think we lit it and blew it out at least four times, so Myra got a lot of wishes.

It was a carrot cake, which Alice didn't like--she's more of a chocolate person. But Alice did scrape off the cream cheese frosting and eat that. Myra decided not to have a piece.

Here is Alice and her present from Myra. She's been admiring her friend's trike for quite awhile so when we saw this on clearance at
Walmart, we just had to get it. And who can wait around until Christmas to give such a fun present? Alice hasn't gotten the pedaling down yet, but I'm sure it's only a matter of time.

We've also really been enjoying these flowers my mom sent to the hospital. Our house is filled with the smell of roses and
lilys.
