Alice's 6th Birthday Party

I've been feeling a little stressed lately with taking care of Quincy and trying to find time to train for my race, so I promised myself I would not do time-consuming birthday parties this year.  My idea for Alice was that instead of a party, she could invite a friend to Coney Island for the day.  Well, one friend turned into two, then three, but I did cap it at three.  And, I didn't even send out cute, handmade invitations--now, that was a big step for me!  With three friends, plus Myra, it did kind of have a party feel, but at least I wasn't making invites, decorations, food, etc.

I had Alice be in charge of decorating the cake--she absolutely loved it
and did a great job!

On the second ride I almost puked--it took me about thirty minutes of sitting and sipping water to recover.  Myra wasn't a fan of the fast rides either, so she sat with me while Bruce took the girls on the rides.

For each ride, there was a lengthy discussion about who got to sit next to who.  After awhile, Bruce came up with a rotation that seemed to work to everyone's satisfaction.

After a few hours of riding rides and eating pizza, we headed back to the car.

Alice opened her presents...

...and ate the yummy cookie cake she helped make.
Then her friends went home.  It was a good day.
