Goodbye 2006

We welcomed the new year with a yummy dinner of homemade egg rolls and fried rice and to top it off, banana splits. Alice made it til about 7pm and zonked out (what a wimp!), but Bruce and I stayed awake and were rewarded with some amazing fireworks from the fireworks factory/school near our house. It was great not to have to travel anywhere to see them--we just had to stand in front of our window and had a great view.

Today we decided to rearrange some furniture, clean the windows (which was no small feat, with storm windows and finicky screens), and take down the Christmas decorations. Bruce watched some of the bowl games, and I worked on my quilt the rest of the day. It's going a lot more quickly now that I have a sewing machine. What a wonderful invention!
