It was cool for all of five seconds to look out the window Monday morning and see everything tinted white, but after those five seconds were over, I was ready for warm weather again. Alice feels the same way I do. I have to drag her outside and she refuses to walk in the snow, touch it, etc. I wonder what it's like to be a one year old and suddenly one day your whole world changes--suddenly everything is white and cold and slippery!
Besides the snow, Alice has had a pretty rough week. She had a fever over the weekend, along with diarrhea and a lack of appetite that lasted until we went to the doctor's office yesterday and suddenly she decided she wanted to eat. I felt a little silly talking about how she wouldn't eat anything while Alice was chomping away on a granola bar. The nurse at the doctor's office turned out to be Mrs. Bock, of Bock Berry Farms, the former owner of the property we live on!
Since she's been sick this week, I was a little more lenient with binkie time (usually, she only gets it in her crib), but now I'm regretting it. It feels like we're back to square one with trying to wean her off the binkie. It's especially frustrating in the car when she just screams and screams until I either give in and hand her the binkie or we reach our destination. For those of you who have heard Alice's notorious high pitched screams, I'm sure you understand why being in close quarters in the car is pretty frustrating. When we're at home and she acts like that I put her in bed and give her the binkie. She'll lay there for about 15 minutes (we call it Alice Time) and then is ready to get out and play without the binkie.
Well, that's our news for the week. Bruce ordered a new digital camera off of the Internet yesterday so hopefully, we'll have more pictures soon. I just got tired of messing with our broken camera that would only turn on half the time!
