A friend of mine who nannys for a set of identical twin boys told me about a spare duoglider her boss was trying to sell. We were happy to take it off their hands for a reasonable price, since we were looking to buy one anyway. Alice liked it so much she didn't want to get out of it (neither did Bruce the monkey).
We were also pleasantly surprised by a phone call from Mark and Karen about a month ago, asking us if we would like to have their 1994 Suzuki Sidekick. A couple of weeks ago we went up to Minneapolis to pick up the car and have been enjoying it ever since. Alice also brought home a new car that day, courtesy of Harriet, who generously gave away her red and yellow plastic car and gas station. Alice hasn't really figured out how to move in it, but enjoys getting in and out of it, in and out, in and out, in and out. Bruce is now driving the Ford Focus and the Trooper will soon be in the good hands of a family in our ward who were in need of a more reliable vehicle.
Lately, Alice has been doing a lot more climbing on furniture, dancing, rolling around on the floor and doing somersaults. She also likes to experiment with spinning around until she gets dizzy and plugging her ears so she can't hear me. For some reason, she always plugs her ears when it's time to clean the food of her hands and face, which means I have to clean the food out of her ears too. I'm not quite sure of the rational behind that move. She used to cover her eyes, which I didn't really get either.
Her new trick she started doing today was folding her arms, bowing her head, and saying random words/sounds and then after 'Amen' looking up and laughing her head off. I'm not sure why she thinks it's so funny but she did it about 20 times today. Oh, and speaking of repetition, she also likes to fake sneeze so she can here us say, "Bless you." She's a cutie:)
We were at the mall the other day looking at the cats in the window of the pet store when Alice started rolling around on the floor. At first, I didn't know what she was doing and then I realized she was mimicking one of the cats. She also found some old pieces of popcorn on the floor and tried to feed it to the cats through the glass. She's really getting to be quite entertaining!
