Memorial Day Weekend in Kansas

Alice and I drove to Kansas City and met up with my dad and Grandma, who had flown in from Florida. We'd previously invested in a portable DVD player, so it actually wasn't a bad trip, though I got to listen to Finding Nemo three times.

While in Kansas we visited with my Grandma's brother, and a bunch of my dad's cousins. We also visited quite a few cemeteries (I lost count) to pay respect to family members. Alice really liked finding little seats on the headstones and sticking flowers in the ground. She had a great time, despite the many hours a day in the car, driving through rural Kansas. Her favorite parts of the trip were spending time with her 'Pepaw,' who took on the job of getting her in and out of her carseat. As soon as the car stopped, she would start chanting, "Pepaw, Pepaw, Pepaw," and didn't want anyone else to take her out. She also loved getting all the ice she wanted at restaurants and playing peekaboo with 'Ka Ka' (Great-Grandma).
