This is Alice in her portable crib that fits very nicely in our tent. She thought it was great to sleep right next to Daddy.

A couple of my good friends flew out to visit me for a long weekend. This is us at the Mormon Pioneer Handcart Celebration, held every year in Iowa City. Holly, on the left, I've known since high school--she flew in from SLC. Amanda in the middle was a roommate in college--she flew in from Virginia. We also visited Kalona and the Amana Colonies while they were in town. Bruce was nice enough to take Friday off to babysit Alice. They went to the dog park and had a fun time playing with all sorts of dogs.

This is Alice and her friend Jacob, who spent the day with us while his mom was at Cub Scout camp. We had snacktime outside, which was fun for them and easy cleanup for me!

And last but not least, Mary Etta, David, Polly, Christopher, and Griffin came to visit us--just one stop on their three week adventure. Some of the blueberries were ripe (very early for this part of the country), so they got to taste some of the bounty of the property. Bruce also took them to Kalona while I was at a meeting and then we were treated to a wonderful Italian dinner downtown, courtesy of Mary Etta, and authentic gelato in the park afterward. Alice was sad to lose her playmates when they left!
