The non-stress test looked good, as well as the ultrasound, except I was on the borderline for having too much amniotic fluid, which was weird because they were checking to make sure I had enough amniotic fluid. As the placenta gets older, it doesn't work as well and sometimes doesn't produce enough fluid. Anyways, they decided to check the size of the baby because that's one of the reasons for having a lot of fluid and it turns out that the baby is rather large. There's a special term they used that means big baby but I can't remember it anymore.
The tech measured the baby at 10lbs 1oz but when the ultrasound doctor came in, they got a better picture of the baby and measured her at 9lbs 10oz, so as you can see, not very accurate! It's a 20% margin of error either way, though when I made the comment that I could potentially have an almost 12lb baby, the tech gasped in horror and said it was not very likely.
There wasn't a clear cut answer on what to do--because the baby is big and there's lots of fluid, it means more pressure on my scar, but on the other hand, the baby is doing well and my placenta is healthy. We ultimately decided to wait until the end of the 42nd week to see if I go into labor naturally. It's nice to be at such a good hospital, so if something does happen we will have the best medical care possible. Just so we can get on the schedule in case the baby decides not to come on her own, we have a c-section scheduled for October 10th at 10am. So by this time next week we will definitely have a baby in our arms. Ultimately, it doesn't matter how she comes, as long as she's healthy!
