Princess Birthday

We did a princess star theme--everything had stars, including the cake!

The girls decorated jewelry boxes with glitter paint and star jewels.

Then we played 'Pass the Parcel,' a birthday tradition from Bruce's childhood.  A present is wrapped in multiple layers of paper.  The girls sat in a circle and passed the parcel as music played--when the music stopped, whoever was holding the package got to take another layer of wrapping paper off the present.  The present included princess rings for each girl to put in their jewelry box.

Then there was a mad dash upstairs to hunt out hidden stars with candy attached to them.

After that, we had dinner under the stars (glitter stars hanging from the ceiling) in the basement (one of the few times that having a purple basement is a good thing) and then had cake and ice cream.

Myra stood in the background as Alice opened her presents, inconspicuously playing with what had been opened (her one and only chance!).

Overall, a great party!

Your cake turned out awesome-good job! What a cute birthday party! I'll have to steal some of your ideas when Annika gets to the princess stage. :)
